The Vocationist Fathers began their mission in India in
1996. The first group of ten aspirants for the
priesthood were accepted and began their formation in
June of that same year in a house the Fathers rented
from the Diocese of Thrissur. The following year, another
group of ten young men joined the already established
Vocationary and they moved to Thalore where the Fathers
had purchased a piece of Land and a temporary building
housed them there.
The construction of the permanent building of
the Vocationary began immediately. This new building was
dedicated in May 1999. Presently the Vocationary is
housing candidates to the priesthood, and with its three
floors already completed and the construction of the
fourth floor in progress, it has the capacity to house
over 60 students. |
