The Vocationist mission in Madagascar was opened on November in the year 2002 by Frs. Anthony Fuguerido SDV from brazil, Christian Ogbonna sdv from Nigeria and Fr. Patrick Nwachukwu sdv from Nigeria .The Vocationists were officially  invited to Madagascar by the Archbishop of Antsiranana, his Excellency Archbishop Michael Malo through the mediation of the bishop of Nosy-be, His Excellency bishop Odon. the main purpose of the invitation of the Vocationist to Madagascar was to help out in the formation of future priests in  the Archdiocese  of Antsiranana, the Archbishop promised to let the Vocationist fathers take care of the seminary for the spiritual year of the diocese whose building was supposed to be completed by the diocese before handing it over to the Vocationists. Unfortunately this agreement  was not accomplished and the Vocationists were in the diocese of Antsiranana for about ten months living in Paul the VIth major seminary and studying French . The Vocationist community later moved to Archdiocese of Antananarivo in August 2003 where the Vocationist were welcomed by the cardinal Archbishop Armond Gaetan. On their arrival they rented a building in the community of the  Carmelite fathers  where they lived studying the local Language Malagache and helping the Carmelite fathers in their parish. The  Archbishop in the year 2004 after his meeting with the superior general Fr.Louis Caputo sdv, gave  the parish of St Ignatius of Loyola Soamanandrariny to the Vocationist fathers to be in charge of. At present ,the Vocationists in work in the parish and also have a house which is being used  as a Novitiate and Vocationary and  for  the formation of future Vocationists. They also help out in the pastoral services in the diocese as well as celebrate masses for some religious communities. Presently there is one Vocationists aspirant who is doing the study of Philosophy in the major seminary, there are also  some external Vocationary members who come frequently for discernment. Worthy of note also is the fact that the Vocationists sisters are also in Madagascar in the diocese of Nossy-be .

The fist novitiate was opened on September 26, 2006. Fr. Anthony Fuguerido,SDV was appointed  as the novice master. Bro. Earnest also joined community of Antananarivo so that he might cooperate in the formation of postulants and aspirants of Our Lady of Divine Vocations Vocationary. There are 3 priests, one religious brother, 4 novices, 6 postulants and 6 aspirants in Madagascar community.

In September 2006, the congregation has purchased 32 Sq meter of land in order to able to build its first Vocationary building in the capital city of Antananarivo.
